The Residents Announce One-off London Date

Band wish fans a merry Christmas by releasing their Ultimate Box Set - housed in a fridge - on Christmas Day

Legendary avantgardists The Residents have announced a rare, one-off London show next year.

As part of their 40th anniversary celebration, the Wonder Of Weird tour, the trio will be playing the Barbican on 18 May – get hold of tickets here.

Also – do you have $100,000 to spare? Well, if so, you’ll able to avail yourself of the Residents’ Ultimate Box Set, an all-encompassing retrospective of their entire back catalogue, housed in a 28 cubic-feet fridge. The group recently announced that on Christmas Day, they would be – erm, releasing? – the set, featuring 40 vinyl LPs, 50 CDs and myriad singles, EPs, DVDs, CD-ROMs, as well as one of their legendary eyeball mask top hats. What’s more, these are all, thanks to the collective’s diligent archiving, first releases, not repressings. It’s a strictly limited run, mind, with only 10 fridges available – let Randy tell you more:
