Designed to coincide with Conrad Shawcross’ Timepiece installation at the Roundhouse, the venue will be hosting The Pace of Time, a series of events that will engage with different perspectives on time through the medium of music, film and art.
The first of the series of events, entitled ‘A Refutation’, will be a live collaborative performance featuring Ashley Paul, Nik Colk Void and Tom James Scott. They will each be performing the same sequence of music but starting at different points in the sequence, exploring the concepts of simultaneity and duration.
The second event, ‘In To Fragments’, will be a screening of several short films that are related to duration and fragmented time, including features from William S. Burroughs and Rob Gawthrop.
Finally there will be a screening of new work by contemporary artists who have been asked to respond to Shawcross’ piece.
The events will take place from August 2-4. More information can be found here and tickets can be purchased from the Roundhouse website.
