London outfit The Osiris Club have shared a new single from their forthcoming second LP The Wine-Dark Sea, out on Indie Recordings on February 28.

A theatrical, ambitious record tinged with lashings of proto-goth and post-punk, the band were also inspired by comic books such as the Hellboy series and writers like Robert Aickman and HP Lovecraft.

The band said of the track: "Drawing on ‘Robert Aickman’s’ short story Choice Of Weapons. The songs highlights the perils of lust, obsession, jealously and fixation. The song focuses on the mind of Malcolm Fenville, a man destroyed by his obsession with Dorabelle, a mysterious woman he meets by chance. His intrigue unfolds into a fixation, only to be rewarded with Dorabelle’s unrequited love, finding Fenville falling into a sickness that no modern medicine can cure."

The album was produced by Anders Moller, of whom they say: "Anders is someone we’d spoken with about working together for some years. Finally collaborating with him was a great experience –he truly knows how to get the best sounds out of whoever he’s working with. We had the advantage of being able to use the stacks of analogue gear he has in the studio, including a selection of vintage synthesizers we made sure to put on almost every track."
