Psychedelic landscape roamers, The Oscillation, have debuted the latest in their series of dystopian videos directed by Julian Hand. ‘Chrome Cat’ – watch above – is the latest offering from the band’s third album From Tomorrow, which was released in autumn last year on French label Hands In The Dark. The video features overexposed and colour-filtered images of eyeballs and fields among other more abstract depictions over the track’s dark dissonant rumbling and, well, oscillating.
It’s directed by experimental filmmaker and light show artist Julian Hand, who has also taken the helm on the band’s previous videos and cover artwork to provide some extra psychedelic consistency throughout their work, whose Fillmore East house light show-meets-Suspiria quality to it that suits the band’s dark and swirly tones.
The band, masterminded by guitarist and singer Demian Castellanos, are currently playing as a trio with Valentina Magaletti on drums and Tom Relleen on bass. The Oscillation have just come back from an appearance at The Great Escape in Brighton and are just about to kick off a European tour starting at Club Bassy in Berlin on May 21.
