The Moonlandingz have shared a reworked track, ‘The Woman In Me Lyfe’, featuring actor and longstanding collaborator Maxine Peake, in celebration of International Women’s Day today (March 8). Listen above.
The track is a reworking of ‘The Man In Me Lyfe’, which appeared on their self-titled 2015 EP.
The band, consisting of members of Fat White Family and the Eccentronic Research Council, was borne from the latter’s 2015 album, Johnny Rocket, Narcissist & Music Machine… I’m Your Biggest Fan.
The concept record featured Peake as narrator and lead actor, and featured The Moonlandingz within the narrative. The semi-fictional band release their own album Interplanetary Class Classics on March 24.
The Quietus spent a day and night with The Moonlandingz on the Yorkshire moors ahead of their new album. Check back in with tQ on Tuesday to read the exclusive interview.
