The Magnetic North are set to reissue their ace debut album, Orkney: Symphony of the Magnetic North on June 24 via Full Time Hobby, adding a new track ‘Hoy Sound’ and including their film about the titular island, Hunting For Remoteness.
On the same day, they’ll be releasing the track ‘Hi Life’ as a single with a remix of the track by White Label alongside one of another album cut, ‘Bay Of Skaill’, by Kid Harpoon. The band have made a new video for the cut, which we’ve got a first spin of – watch above.
Also on June 24, TMN will be playing a one-off show at Islington Assembly Hall to mark the reissue, enlisting the help of string and brass sections and a choir no less, as well as screening Hunting For Remoteness (have a watch of the trailer at the foot of this piece).
Go to Full Time Hobby’s website to pre-order the album, and head here for tickets to the Islington gig. In the meantime, have a read of our review of the band’s recent live collaboration with composer André De Ridder in Berlin.
