The JAMs Announce Cryptic New ‘Burn The Shard’ Plans

The newly revived Justified Ancients of Mu Mu will host another event, with a cryptic announcement trailing 'Burn The Shard'

Fresh from their return this Summer after a self-imposed 23 year moritorium, The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu, fka The KLF, have announced a new event called ‘Burn The Shard’.

In a video shared via Bido Lito!, the Liverpool-based magazine who helped organise Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty’s return in August, the pair have ordered their followers to ‘await further instructions’.

Billed as ‘A Dead Perch Nation – Bido Lito! Transmission’, the video announces that something will be taking place in London on November 23. It will be free, and those interested are to await further instructions.

November 23 is notable as the first proper ‘Toxteth Day Of The Dead’, a new annual event initiated by the JAMs during their three day guerilla takeover of Liverpool earlier this year.

That event, ‘Liverpool: Welcome To The Dark Ages’, saw the band return from their self-imposed exile with a series of bizarre, cult-like demonstrations.

Beginning with Drummond and Cauty careening through the city in an ice cream van at the launch of their new book 2023, and ending with the launch of a new funeral service, a ghoulish parade and the burning of a giant effigy, as is now apparent, that was only the beginning.
