The GIT Awards: Judges Announced

The Quietus' John Doran is joined by Q's Andrew Harrison, 6 Music's Tom Ravenscroft and more for this year's Scouse Mercury Prize

The judging panel has been announced for this year’s GIT Awards, recognising the best in new music from Merseyside.

Joining awards organiser Peter Guy of Liverpool’s Getintothis music blog and the Liverpool Echo, will be tQ ed John Doran, Andrew Harrison, editor of Q, Tom Ravenscroft, BBC Radio 6 Music DJ and son of John Peel, a son of Liverpool himself, and Matt Wilkinson, the NME’s new music editor.

There’s also a seven-strong contingent of Merseyside-based judges: Craig G Pennington, editor of Liverpool music magazine Bido Lito!, David Lloyd, founder and editor of Liverpool culture blog Seven Streets, Clarry Mowforth, co-founder of Liverpool events and promotions company everisland, Johnny Collins, deputy programme controller of Juice FM, Steve Miller, Liverpool music promoter, Paul Rogers, head of content at Liverpool Football Club and Yaw Owusu, chief executive of Liverpool youth culture company URBEATZ.
