The Exorcist Soundtrack Set For Reissue

Reissue label to oversee new pressing of film's "original motion picture soundtrack"

Reissue label Waxwork has announced that it will be releasing a deluxe vinyl reissue of the classic soundtrack for The Exorcist.

Many will of course be familiar with Mike Oldfield’s ‘Tubular Bells’ theme even if they haven’t seen the film itself, but this reissue will present the 1973 film’s full "original motion picture soundtrack". Details on what exactly that will entail are scarce at this point with the label having announced the release via Twitter.

The film itself featured compositions from Krzysztof Penderecki and Oldfield among others, but there was also an unused original score by Lalo Schifrin which found its way online early last year. The reissue will come with new artwork by Phantom City Creative – you can see that above – and full details should be announced in the very near future.
