Fresh off the back of airing on this week’s instalment of the Quietus Hour radio show – available to listen to here – is this new track, ‘Addis Hum’, from The Ex and Ethiopian five-piece Fendika, the culmination of six years working together. It’s the latest in a long line of collaborations for the prolific Dutch punk outfit, who’ve previously worked with Sonic Youth, Tortoise, Getatchew Mekurya and most recently Brass Unbound. ‘Addis Hum’ is based on ‘Gue’, a traditional Ethiopian Gurage song, and will be out as the B-side to ‘Lale Guma’ on Record Store Day, April 18, via The Ex’s own label.
