The Ex Announce New Album

The Ex's first solo studio album since 2010 is due out in March

The Ex have announced details of a new album, their first solo studio album since 2010.

Entitled 27 Passports, the album follows 2010’s Catch My Shoe, with the group having spent the time between the albums collaborating with other acts, such as Ethiopia’s Getatchew Mekuria and Brass Unbound, the latter of which featured a number of their friends from the free jazz and improvisation world.

"There are some remnants of their African adventures, but most of all, this is a return to the power of The Ex as a unit that effortlessly juggles noisy/disjointed guitar parts, trance-like grooves, defiant chanting and a relentless, infectious drive," says a press release announcing the album.

27 Passports is out on March 23, and was recorded in the final few months of 2017.
