Burrowed into the Soft Sky is the third album from Front & Follow-signed The Doomed Bird of Providence, and above you can hear one of the album’s two long-form tracks, ‘The Blood Dimmed Tide is Loosed’.
The track sees the band continue to explore the dark side of Australian colonial history, looking at atrocities that took place in the north east of Australia, specifically based on accounts of events in the book Exclusion, Exploitation and Extermination: Race Relations in Colonial Queensland by Raymond Evans, Kay Saunders and Kathryn Cronin.
In contrast to their previous albums, the band’s new record sees them swap Mark Kluzek’s vocals for two entirely instrumental 20-minute pieces. The album is out now. You can buy it here.
