The Cure are set to release a brand new single later this week, ahead of likely news of a new album from the band.

Having teased a return to releasing studio material since 2019, this Thursday (September 26) will finally be the day that fans of the band get to hear a new song from them, titled ‘Alone’. It’s believed to be the lead single from a forthcoming album, titled Songs Of A Lost World.

You can listen to a snippet of the song here ahead of its full premiere, which will come during Mary Anne Hobbs’ morning show on BBC Radio 6 Music sometime between 10.30am and 1pm BST. We’ll share news here when it’s online.

The band will also soon release live versions of another two new songs, ‘And Nothing Is Forever’ and ‘I Can Never Say Goodbye’, on eco-vinyl.

Songs Of A Lost World will be The Cure’s first album since 2008’s 4:13 Dream. A release date of November 1 was recently confirmed in postcards that were sent out to the band’s fans. A poster was also erected outside the Crawley pub where they played their first ever show.
