The Bug Unveils New Album, ‘Machine’

The 12-track record marks Kevin Martin's signing to Relapse Records

The Bug has a new album on the way, titled Machine.

Comprised of 12 tracks, the new record marks the UK artist’s signing to Relapse Records. The music featured on the album began life as a series of self-released “floor weapons”, as The Bug describes them himself, made available through Bandcamp – selected cuts from those five EPs released across 2023 and 2024 have now been collated to piece together Machine.

The Bug, real name Kevin Martin, described the new album as “ice cold and dystopian” in a press statement, adding that it celebrates “atmospheric pressure, and the joy of full body assaults, via oversized sound system in undersized club rooms”.

Machine will be released both digitally and in different vinyl editions. A 2xLP vinyl set will take in the 12-track album, while a more extended 5xLP deluxe vinyl bundle will be made available exclusively through Relapse’s online store and will take in all 21 tracks from the five Machine EPs.

Listen to two songs from the album, ‘Buried (Your Life Is Short)’ and ‘Bodied (Send For The Hearse)’, below.

Relapse Records will release Machine on October 4, 2024.
