The Bug Shares New Track, ‘Deep In A Mud’

It features vocals by Nigerian-British MC Magugu

The Bug has shared a new track, titled ‘Deep In A Mud’.

The song is a vocal version of his previously released cut ‘Drop (Machine Sex)’, and features Nigerian-British MC Magugu. You can watch a video for it below, and purchase it via Bandcamp.

In a statement, The Bug, real name Kevin Martin, said: “People have been saying to me for a couple of years, I should check/collaborate with Magugu. In fact, one of the MCs I work with, called Miss Red, sent me a link about a year ago, and said she thought I would dig his style. I understand why, as to my ears, on his fiercest cuts he sounds like a Nigerian brother of Flowdan. Basically an Afro baritone badman!

“So when I recently heard Mala drop a new killer by him, I decided to reach out. Luckily he was well aware of my music and into it, and so we clicked and worked fast. I liked the idea of perversely dropping a new version of the ‘Drop (Sex Machine)’ instrumental from the Machine album, with added vocals. And so Magugu killed it with ‘Deep In A Mud’.”

The release of ‘Deep In A Mud’ comes on the same day as the release of The Bug’s latest album, Machine, which marks his first full-length effort for his new label home of Relapse.

‘Deep In A Mud’ is now on Relapse.
