The Bug Reveals New EP, ‘Burials / Mud’

It features vocal versions of tracks from last year's Machine LP

The Bug has a new EP, titled Burials / Mud, on the way.

Continuing the partnership he established with US label Relapse last year upon the release of his Machine LP, the record features vocal versions of two tracks from that album: ‘Buried (Your Life Is Short)’ and ‘Drop (Machine Sex)’.

The new version of the former cut sees UK MC Logan offer vocals on ‘Bury Dem’, while the updated take on the latter sees Magugu contribute to ‘Deep In A Mud’. Both tracks also come with corresponding dub versions.

In a statement, The Bug, real name Kevin Richard Martin, said: “For me, Burials / Mud is a celebration of verbal grime and sonic filth, where dub meets riff, and beats add brute physicality. It’s a bridge between the mechanised relentlessness of Machine and the raw, dubbed-out extremity of The Bug live shows. Logan and Magugu add fire to the flames, as the original rhythms are intensified, and fully fucked with.”

Listen to both ‘Bury Dem’ and ‘Deep In A Mud’ below.

Relapse will release Burials / Mud on June 13, 2025.
