Kevin Martin announces new EP, Exit; here's Black Wasp

Kevin Martin is a very busy man, already prepping a new EP of alternate versions and outtakes from the recording sessions for last month’s Angels & Devils. Ninja Tune are set to release The Bug’s Exit EP on October 7 which takes in two variations on the Liz Harris of Grouper-featuring album opener ‘Void’, one with Harris’s vocals and the other a more freeform, instrumental rendition of the track. There are also vocal (again featuring Harris) and instrumental takes on leftover track ‘Black Wasp’. The EP is rounded out by Manga-featuring album cut ‘Function’ and another new track, ‘Blaow’ which features ragga champion Daddy Freddy.

The EP and Angels & Devils were put together from more than 160 demos produced by Martin alongside his collaborators. As part of our week of articles curated by Martin last week, have a ready of Rory Gibb’s review of the album and Luke Turner’s in-depth interview, and give the vocal version of ‘Black Wasp’ a spin above.
