Despite the $3,300 price tag, the initial run of 300 units of the new limited edition Technics SL-1200 turntables has sold out to Japanese customers in just 30 minutes.
As the Tokyo Reporter reports, the first batch of the 50th anniversary edition turntables sold out in half an hour yesterday. An additional 900 turntables will be made available soon for international sales. Another model of the SL-1200 turntable is expected to be made available later in the year also.
