CollaboLabs are a new series of workshops and gigs put together by The Quietus at Tate Modern. Each CollaboLab will be an afternoon of workshops with creative professionals, followed by an evening of live performance that will include some of the workshop attendees.
CollaboLabs are free to attend. The first CollaboLab is tomorrow – Thursday, 19 July.
The workshop collaborators will be vocalist Seaming To and singer-performer Natalie Sharp (Lone Taxidermist). Seaming is running a vocal improvisation workshop and Natalie is running a body architecture workshop (part of her latest work-in-progress, BodyVice). You don’t need to have any musical experience at all, just email us to sign up and turn up; if you’re happy to perform in the evening performance, we’d love you to do so. We’ve scheduled the afternoon so that all attendees will be able to do both workshops.
CollaboLab will be in the Terrace Bar, Level 1, Blavatnik Building – round the back of Tate Modern. Workshops will run from 4pm until 6pm. If you want to be in the workshops, please sign up at collabolabs@thequietus.com
After the workshops, there’ll be a gig that’s open to everyone, with no need to book – just turn up. The gig will be a live collaboration between Natalie Sharp and some of the workshop attendees from the afternoon.
