More Names For Supersonic 2018

Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe, Shirley Collins and more join the bill for this year's Supersonic

The second set of acts playing this year’s Supersonic festival in Birmingham has now been announced with Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe, Shirley Collins and Moor Mother amongst those joining the bill.

Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe will take up a role as guest curator at the festival, and has invited Moor Mother, Wetware and Croww to play. He will also perform with Susie Ibarra and Boredoms’ Yoshimio.

Deafkids, Goat, Group A, Terminal Cheesecake and Joasinho have also been added to the line-up for this year’s festival, will all of the above joining the previously announced likes of Gazelle Twin (performing the UK premiere of her upcoming album), Andrea Belfi, The Ex, Yves Tumor and more on the bill.

"For me Supersonic festival has not only stood out from others of its kind by pushing it’s scope away from the one dimensional trap that is indicative of most music based festivals, but has programmed things people might not be aware of," says Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe. "It’s an amazing feeling to be allowed the opportunity to present sound and visual works within the framework of an established festival that gives trust to others to bring in outside perspectives."

tQ are also very happy to be continuing our ongoing partnership with Supersonic in 2018. "Supersonic has been part of The Quietus’ DNA since we first launched the site a decade ago in 2008 so we’re thrilled to be partnering with the festival once again this year," says our Luke Turner. "Much has changed in those ten years, but Supersonic has been one of the entities that has evolved to continue celebrating the best in new and far out sounds since – via Supersonic we’ve discovered so many artists that have gone on to become firm Quietus favourites & we look forward to continuing that tradition this year. Roll on the Digbeth June."

This year’s Supersonic takes place in Digbeth in Birmingham from June 22-24. More acts will be confirmed in the coming months. For more information, and to get tickets, head here.
