Supersonic Confirm More Details

Nicholas Bullen, originator of Napalm Death, will present a special commission called ‘Universal Detention Centre’, while the festival has also put day tickets up for sale

More details of this year’s Supersonic Festival have been confirmed including one of the specially commissioned performances, which will come from Nicholas Bullen, founding member of Napalm Death.

This latest announcement coincides with the release of day tickets, as well as the day-by-day breakdown for this year’s festival which can be found here.

Bullen will present a project called ‘Universal Detention Centre’ which ties into the 30-year anniversary of Napalm Death album Scum. The album was the band’s debut and was a pivotal release in grindcore and the more extreme end of rock music. There will also be sets from Melt Banana, Art Of Burning Water and PCM tying in with the anniversary as the festival looks at those taking grindcore in new directions today.

There will also be newly announced sets from Ghold, Conny Prantera alongside The Seer, Lone Taxidermist’s Trifle, Snapped Ankles, Mothwasp and Algorave.

This year’s festival features the likes of Anna von Hausswolff, Jenny Hval, Richard Dawson, Colin Steston, Princess Nokia and many more, and takes place in Birmingham from June 16-18. You can find more information and get tickets here.
