Supersonic Festival will round off 2020 with two days of online events this weekend.
Kicking off tomorrow (December 19), the festival will present a special ‘Kids Gig’ featuring a live set from Hen Ogledd streamed via Zoom. The gig, Supersonic says, is "designed for families as a way of introducing children to experimental music," and will start at 11am GMT.
Following Hen Ogledd later in the day, at 8.30pm GMT, Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs will take to Zoom to stream a special Christmas-themed game of bingo. All proceeds from tickets for this event will be donated to the Trussell Trust, who support a nationwide network of food banks across the UK.
The final event, on December 20, will see Hen Ogledd return for a full live gig, streamed from Newcastle’s Star & Shadow. "[The gigs will] be our first chance to share in person (sort of) the music of Free Humans, and we are so happy to be doing this in collaboration with our friends at Supersonic Festival – that most crucial and brilliant hub of music and cultural light," Richard Dawson says of the band’s two appearances.
You can find more information, and get tickets, for all of the shows via Supersonic’s website.
