Supernormal Festival is back this year from August 9-11 in Braziers Park, Oxfordshire and it looks set to be another weekend full of ace underground music and contemporary performances.
Among the first names on the bill are Hookworms, Mugstar, Bass Clef, Shit and Shine and Richard Dawson. The non-profit event offers tickets from £50 for a weekend pass; for the full line-up and further details, head to the festival’s site here.
Supernormal festival aims to be a more alternative and experimental event, free of the sponsorship deals and identikit line-ups that mark a huge number of festivals. Last year, we talked to two of the event’s organisers, Teeth Of The Sea’s Jimmy Martin and Colin Wakefield of Tatty Sea Side Town, who told us: "Today there are more festivals in this country than ever and you see the same bands on every bill. It’s become a treadmill. Supernormal truly gets back to basics I feel, not in any hippy trustafarian ‘smash the system’ kinda way, but on an alternative/underground music and art level. It’s run on a shoestring by people who care, and I think this reflects in the programme."
