Sufjan Stevens To Release Album With His Stepfather

The album, Stevens' first with Lowell Brams, was recorded over the course of several years

Sufjan Stevens is releasing an album with his stepfather, Lowell Brams. Titled Aporia, it’s preceded by lead track ‘The Unlimited’, which you can hear above.

Aporia was recorded by the pair over the course of several years. "You know how it is with jamming," Stevens says in a press release, "ninety percent of it is absolutely horrible, but if you’re just lucky enough, ten percent is magic. I just kept pulling out these little magical moments."

It’s the second time the pair have collaborated on record after Stevens contributed to Brams’ 2015 album Music for Insomnia, but marks the pair’s first full-length release together.

Asthmatic Kitty will release Aporia on March 27, 2020.
