Sufjan Stevens Details 20th Anniversary Reissue of ‘Seven Swans’

The expanded version of the album is set for release in June

Sufjan Stevens‘ 2004 album Seven Swans is to be reissued to mark its 20th anniversary.

Due out in June, the expanded reissue will cover special digital and physical editions. The vinyl release, which will come with embossed artwork, will include a flexi-disc featuring two B-side tracks from the Seven Swans era: ‘I Went Dancing With My Sister’ and ‘Waste Of What Your Kids Won’t Have’. Both cuts will also appear on the digital version of the LP for the first time.

One of the more restrained efforts in Stevens’ early back-catalogue, Seven Swans was released less than a year after his 2003 breakthrough album Michigan. It saw him relinquish control of production duties for the first time, with Daniel Smith, leader of the folk group Danielson Famile, taking on those duties.

You can listen to album cut ‘The Dress Looks Nice On You’ below.

Asthmatic Kitty will release Seven Swans (Deluxe Edition) on June 21, 2024.
