Suede Reveal Debut Album Reissue For 30th Anniversary

The self-titled record has been newly mixed and mastered especially for the 'Suede30' project.

Suede’s 1993 self-titled debut album is set to be reissued.

Due out in July, the album has been newly mixed and mastered to mark 30 years since its original release. Overseen by the record’s original producer, Ed Buller, the reissue will see the album made newly available on a variety of formats, including a Blu-Ray audio edition centred on a 5.1 mix and Dolby Atmos treatment; a half-speed master edition pressed on 180g black vinyl; a newly mastered double-CD edition complete with B-sides; and a limited edition full album picture disc with newly reimagined bespoke sleeve.

The band are also putting out a number of limited edition 30th anniversary 7-inch picture discs of their first four singles: The Drowners / To The Birds, Metal Mickey / Where The Pigs Dont Fly, Animal Nitrate / The Big Time and So Young / High Rising. Each of them will come with the original artwork.

Originally released by Nude Records in March 1993, Suede debuted at the top of the UK’s album chart and sold over 100,000 copies in its first week, making it the fastest-selling debut album ever in the UK at the time. It also won the second Mercury Music Prize.

Speaking about the record in a statement, Suede frontman Brett Anderson said: "It was a genuinely magical time in my life and one for which I’ll always be grateful. It felt incredible being in what I thought was quite probably the most exciting band in the world at the time, making a record which felt like more than just another band making another album."

Demon Music will release Suede30 on July 7, 2023.
