Suede Detail New Album, ‘Antidepressants’

The group's 10th studio album is out in September

Suede have shared details of a new album, titled Antidepressants.

Taking in 11 tracks, the band’s 10th studio record is influenced by the past three years spent touring 2022 album Autofiction. It was recorded between studios in London, Brussels and Stockholm.

In a statement, frontman Brett Anderson said: “If Autofiction was our punk record, Antidepressants is our post-punk record. It’s about the tensions of modern life, the paranoia, the anxiety, the neurosis. We are all striving for connection in a disconnected world. This was the feel I wanted the songs to have. The album is called Antidepressants. This is broken music for broken people.”

Bass player Mat Osman added: “This is a widescreen and ambitious record. It’s a big stage record and it’s taking it up a gear.”

To mark the announcement of the new record, Suede have shared a video for lead single ‘Disintegrate’, which you can watch below. Shot in black-and-white by director Chris Turner, the visuals centres the band performing the track in a live setting.

The release of Antidepressants will also coincide with Suede taking over London’s Southbank Centre for a special concert series over four nights in September. For the first two nights, they will play a set of classics and new music at the venue’s Royal Festival Hall. The third night will see them relocate to the Purcell Room for a more intimate show, while the final date will take place at the Queen Elizabeth Hall and feature the band’s first full live performance with an orchestra as they team up with the Paraorchestra.

BMG will release Antidepressants on September 5, 2025.
