Subtext to Mark 20th Anniversary with New Compilation, ‘Cybernetic, Or Ghosts – Stories From Myth To A.I.’

Subtext, the label run by Emptyset’s James Ginzburg has shared details of a 20th anniversary compilation, titled Cybernetics, Or Ghosts? Stories From Myths To A.I.

Spanning 15 tracks, and taking in an accompanying book, it sees a selection of artists and writers associated with the label contribute music and articles responding to late writer Italo Calvino’s 1967 essay Cybernetics And Ghosts.

Among the acts who have tracks featured on the release are Emptyset, ZULI, Roly Porter, Ziúr, KMRU & Aho Ssan, PYUR, xin and Rắn Cạp Đuôi Collective. You can listen to the latter’s contribution to the compilation, ‘There, Above Heaven, below.

Subtext will release Cybernetics, Or Ghosts Stories From Myths To A.I. on October 18, 2024.
