WATCH: Stewart Lee & Alex Neilson Interview

In a new video conversation, Stewart Lee talks to Trembling Bells' Alex Neilson about the band's new album

Last week Trembling Bells released their new album Dungeness, which takes its name from the headland on the south coast of England which the band first visited in 2015.

It left a polarising effect on them: "They hated it for the same reasons that I was thrilled by it," says frontman Alex Neilson of the headland.

In a new video conversation with Stewart Lee, which you can watch above, Alex Neilson opens up more about the new record. The pair cover the band’s heavier sound on the record, Neilson’s background of improvisation and channeling characters in songwriting.

The interview took place at Perth Museum, which is captured in the video, and comes amidst an extensive run of tour dates for Trembling Bells through this month in support of the album.

You can find that list of dates, including a show tomorrow (April 6) at Preston’s Continental Club, here. You can purchase Dungeness here and read our review of the album here.
