Stevie Van Zandt, famous for both his solo career and as a founding member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, has just announced his 7-date UK Tour this November.
Van Zandt will be touring as Little Steven with his Disciples of Soul band, in support of their new album Soulfire. Soulfire is Van Zandt’s first album in almost 20 years, since fifth solo album Born Again Savage. Similarly, the fall tour will be the first major series of shows in the UK that Little Steven has embarked on in over two decades.
The tour follows a successful European run, preceded by Little Steven and The Disciples of Soul’s long awaited live return last October. Coming back full-force, the European tour included sell-out shows, including one UK show in Manchester.
In reference to his creative process making the album, Van Zandt says “I’ve always been very thematic with my work, very conceptual…I tried to pick material that when you added it all up, really represented me”. The result includes covers and new songs, all written with the creative lyricism Van Zandt has become known for.
Earlier this year, we interviewed van Zandt to talk about taking gyms on tour, the Boss, and why musicians should be more grateful to major labels. Read that here.
