Steve Davis To Play Glastonbury

Six-time snooker champion follows Bloc appearance with Glastonbury DJ set

Having landed his big break as a DJ at Bloc back in March, snooker champion Steve Davis has now been lined up to DJ at Glastonbury’s Stonebridge Bar next month.

Davis isn’t new to DJ having hosted a regular radio show in Essex on Phoenix FM with past guests including Surgeon and the team here at tQ, but his appearance at the last ever Bloc was his first public foray into DJing in front of an audience.

Asked about what music he will be drawing for at Glastonbury, Davis told the BBC: “Stuff that’s a bit more complicated and a little bit more leftfield than ‘doof, doof, doof’. It’s not necessarily techno. We’re playing some stuff that’s electronic and some that will appeal to people who are into IDM.

“It’s quite strange. I’ve been doing a radio show in Brentwood, and I’ve joined forces with a musician, Kavus Torabi, who’s been in a few bands over the years. We’ve got quite a mini following online, it’s a little bit cult-y.”
