Stephen Mallinder is set to guest at an upcoming edition of The Quietus Social.
His appearance at The Social will mark the launch for his first solo album in 35 years, titled Um Dada, which will be released later this month via Dais Records.
Known also for his work with Cabaret Voltaire, Wrangler, and Creep Show, he’ll be in conversation with our own John Doran, and will also perform a live set. There will be support from Warp Records’ LoneLady who will DJ while more acts are yet to be announced.
As is customary with The Quietus Social, the evening will kick off with a full vinyl playback of a classic record, in this instance The Pop Group’s Y. The playback will offer the first time to hear its new half-speed remaster which has been done to coincide with the album’s 40th anniversary.
It’ll all take place on October 29 and tickets can be purchased here or here.
The event will follow on from another edition of The Quietus Social this month on October 16 which will feature Stewart Lee guesting.
