Stars Of The Lid’s debut album, Music For Nitrous Oxide, is being reissued.
Marking 30 years since its original release, the record has been remastered by Grammy award-winning sound engineer Francesco Donadello and will be made available on vinyl for the first time having previously only been on CD.
Acknowledging the death in 2023 of Stars Of The Lid’s Brian McBride, remaining member Adam Wiltzie said in a statement: “I felt it was time to revisit and acknowledge this long-forgotten archive on the beginning of Stars Of The Lid.”
Formed in 1993, the US ambient and drone music group released records on labels such as Kranky and Sub Rosa, and continued to tour intermittently in the years that followed their final studio album, 2006’s And Their Refinement Of The Decline.
