St. Vincent Remixes Beck

"I guess I was listening to a lot of '70s Herbie and WAR at the time and wondering how much funk was inside me, too," says Annie Clark

St. Vincent has shared a remix of recent Beck track ‘Uneventful Days’.

The original track featured on Beck’s latest album, Hyperspace, which came out in November of last year. You can hear Annie Clark’s take on the track above.

"I guess I was listening to a lot of ’70s Herbie and WAR at the time and wondering how much funk was inside me, too," she says of making the remix. "I sent it to Beck and he dug it, but he said, ‘it should be three BPM faster’. And what do you know? HE WAS SO RIGHT. It made all the difference in the groove."

Both artists will appear at a special tribute concert to Prince alongside a number of artists on January 28. The concert will be recorded to be aired at a later date. In November, Beck released an EP that included a medley of Prince songs and was recorded at the late artist’s Paisley Park studios.
