Squid will release their debut album this May.
Titled Bright Green Field, the album sees Squid team up with Speedy Wunderground boss Dan Carey who handles production duties. The record also features a horn and string ensemble featuring the likes of Emma-Jean Thackray and Lewis Evans from Black Country, New Road. Squid’s Ollie Judge name-checks the writings of Douglas Coupland, as well as Mark Fisher and Merlin Coverley’s views on hauntology as influences on the record, describing this new album as "darker and more concerned with place" than previous projects which he says "were playful and concerned with characters."
Warp Records will release Bright Green Field on May 7, 2021.
