Spoon Reveal Adrian Sherwood Rework Of Their Latest Album

The On-U Sound label founder has remixed the entirety of the US band's 2022 record 'Lucifer On The Sofa'

Adrian Sherwood has reworked Spoon’s latest album Lucifer On The Sofa in full for a new release.

Titled Lucifer On The Moon, the project first came about after Sherwood was invited to rework the singles from Lucifer On The Sofa having been given the proviso by frontman Britt Daniel that he "avoid things that would not be possible on tape" and "add whatever you want to add, the less modern the better." With the band pleased with the results of the first few remixes, the On-U sound label founder was invited to rework further material from the album until it turned into a full record.

"I got into the melody and the thoughts it evoked in me," Sherwood said in a statement about the process of working on Lucifer On The Moon. "It just evolved and we eventually found ourselves with a whole album." You can watch a video for the new record’s lead track, ‘On The Radio (Adrian Sherwood Reconstruction)’, above.

Matador will release Lucifer On The Moon on November 4, 2022.
