Spool’s Out – the monthly tape reviews column here at The Quietus – addressed the nation from the great Resonance 104.4fm near London Bridge last night for the first episode of Spool’s Out Radio, presented by resident cassette devotee, Tristan Bath. The transmission was made at 8pm yesterday, but has been preserved for future generations to stumble across, and presumably quickly bury once more thereafter.
The focus was on choice tape releases from 2015 thus far, and the likes of Teresa Winter, Mark Dicker, Jeff "Crazy Heart" Bridges, Eartheater and the brilliant debut from Scottish kosmische duo, Art of the Memory Palace, all featured. The semi-regularity of future editions of Spool’s Out Radio is expected to be somewhere between weekly and monthly, and will eventually include guest musicians and weirdos in the studio.
