Spacemen 3’s Sonic Boom Returns With New Album

It's Peter Kember's first Sonic Boom album in more than three decades

Sonic Boom, the Spacemen 3 co-founder otherwise known as Peter Kember, has announced a new album.

Titled All Things Being Equal, it’s his first album as Sonic Boom since 1989’s Spectrum, and follows years of collaborations with acts such as Panda Bear, No Joy and Beach House. You can watch a video for the album’s lead track, ‘Just Imagine’, above.

Kember credits his collaborative work over the last couple of decades for helping influence his solo work. "I learn from everyone I work with, and I wanted to bring what I learnt into this record," he says. "Everybody thinks about and listens to music in different ways."

Carpark will release the 10-track All Things Being Equal on June 5. Read tQ’s The Strange World Of… feature on Peter Kember from 2018 here.
