Soft Cell have remixed HMLTD’s new single ‘Proxy Love’. You can hear the results above.
It’s a rare remix from Soft Cell who are currently amidst a flurry of activity which will see them play London’s O2 on September 30, and release an expansive retrospective box set entitled Keychains & Snowstorms: The Soft Cell Story on September 7.
The remix turns the glam stomp of HMLTD’s original into a speedy, seven-minute electro stepper, making full use of frontman Henry Spychalski’s vocals throughout. It’s Soft Cell’s first remix, with the duo describing HMLTD as "one of the best live bands around".
The original track features on HMLTD’s latest EP, Hate Music Last Time Delete, which was released earlier this month. The group have a number of live shows lined up through the summer, including an appearance at Hackney Wick’s Visions festival on August 4. You can find their full list of upcoming tour dates here.
