Soft Cell Collaborate With Pet Shop Boys On New Song, ‘Purple Zone’

The track features on Soft Cell's forthcoming album, '*Happiness Not Included'

Soft Cell have teamed up with fellow synth pop giants Pet Shop Boys on a new single, ‘Purple Zone’.

Out now, the track is the third song to be unveiled from Soft Cell’s forthcoming album, *Happiness Not Included, which was announced last year and will now be released in May. The song, which you can watch a video for above, came about after Pet Shop Boys attended one of Soft Cell’s 2021 concerts. After the show, plans were made for the duo to remix ‘Purple Zone’, a favourite of theirs from the performance, but the recording session instead turned into a full collaboration.

"Working with the Pet Shop Boys was a pleasure, and this track is the perfect combination of us and them," said Soft Cell’s Marc Almond in a statement.

BMG will release *Happiness Not Included on May 6, 2022.
