Sleaford Mods‘ 2014 breakthrough album, Divide And Exit, is being reissued to mark its 10th anniversary.
The updated release will include the full remastered album, while a limited vinyl edition will also take in an additional flexi-disc featuring unreleased track ‘Git Some Balls’, as well as new sleeve notes and a new sleeve designed by British artist Cold War Steve.
The duo will also celebrate the album’s anniversary with a UK tour of the kind of intimate grassroots venues that they were playing at the time of its release in 2014. Those shows will take place through November at venues such as Sheffield’s The Leadmill, The Florrie in Liverpool and Nottingham’s Bodega. Tickets will go on sale later this week, with a list of dates available to find via Sleaford Mods’ website.
Originally released in May 2014, Divide And Exit was the duo’s second album proper, arriving just over a year after their self-released debut, Austerity Dogs. Reflecting on that period in a press statement, frontman Jason Williamson said: “Where our previous album barked a directionless yet solid form of anger, Divide And Exit then carried this basic form of class consciousness. After the release of Austerity Dogs, we realised we had seemingly created a formula. [Fellow member] Andrew [Fearn] just took the formula and ran with it, and his music started to sound much more compact and urgent.”
To mark the announcement of Divide And Exit‘s reissue, Sleaford Mods have shared a newly restored video for album cut ‘Tied Up In Nottz’, which you can watch below.
Rough Trade will release Divide And Exit on July 26, 2024.
