Sleaford Mods will release a new album via Rough Trade in March, entitled English Tapas.
The album was recorded at the London studio of Pulp’s Steve Mackey and will be released in all the usual formats, including a red vinyl edition and limited cassette edition of 150. The first 1000 vinyl pre-orders of the album will also receive a bonus one-sided 7” of exclusive track ‘Big Trouble In Little Costa’.
"Andrew walked into some random pub and saw "English Tapas" scrawled on the menu board," says the duo’s Jason Williamson of the album’s title. "Underneath this beautiful coupling of words were its components: ‘half a scotch egg, cup of chips, pickle and a mini pork pie’. It says everything about this fucking place. It’s comedy, it’s make do, it’s ignorant and above all, it’s shit."
The pair will also release a Christine Franz’s Bunch of Kunst next year which is a film on the duo. Recorded over two years, it charts the rise of the band and will be released in early 2017.
