As part of Sheffield’s Tramlines festival, Signals describes itself as an all-day showcase of “underground electronic music culture”, running from 12pm through to 4am on Saturday 21st July.
The festival will feature an impressive array of bleeding-edge electronic music, including DJ sets from Hessle-affiliated dancefloor visionaries Objekt and Randomer and recent Planet Mu signee Konx-Om-Pax, and live performances from Lancastrian duo Demdike Stare and Mat Steel and Mark Fell’s snd.
Running alongside the music will be a series of panel discussions discussing electronic music’s current state of play – touching on the changing face of music media in the digital age and the effects of geography and locality on music scenes. The three panels will include appearances from The Quietus’ very own Rory Gibb and Angus Finlayson, The Wire’s Jennifer Lucy Allan, NTS Radio’s Femi Adeyemi and more.
