Today marks the launch of the Sheffield Doc/Fest with details on the Film, Alternate Realities and Talks & Sessions programmes all announced. You can check out a trailer for the festival above.
Among the speakers at this year’s renowned festival are Louis Theroux, Ken Loach, Adam Buxton and Warp Films’ Mark Herbert, while filmmakers including Michael Moore will give masterclasses. 160 international and UK documentaries will be aired, including 27 world premieres and 52 UK premieres.
Aidan Moffat will also perform with special guests following the screening of Where You’re Meant To Be, the debut documentary by director Paul Fegan which sees Moffat and 79-year-old Sheila Stewart clash on how Scotland’s oldest songs should be performed. Industry workshops, sessions and talks will also cover topics such as commissioning in the digital age, documenting the refugee crisis, diversity in the workforce and branded content.
