Shackleton and Wacław Zimpel have shared details of a new album together, featuring South Indian vocalist Siddhartha Belmannu.
In The Cell Of Dreams, which will be released through !K7 offshoot 7K!, follows on from 2020’s Primal Forms, the first collaboration between Shackleton and Zimpel. It features three long-form pieces and one shorter track, with the three artists having intentionally set out not to cut down the length of the record. To mark the record’s announcement, they’ve shared a five-minute edit of the 21-minute opening track, ‘The Ocean Lies Between Us’, which you can listen to above.
Shackleton, Zimpel and Belmannu will present the album live at a series of shows through September, taking in appearances at Berlin Atonal, Tilburg’s Draaimolen festival and London’s Jazz Cafe, among other venues.
7K! will release In The Cell Of Dreams on September 8, 2023.
