Semibreve Festival has announced the edition of a workshop from Room40 label head Lawrence English to this year’s line-up.
The ‘Radical Listener’ workshop will take place on October 28 at Braga’s Tibães Monastery as part of the festival, and is scheduled to run for three-to-five hours, with little more details yet known on what exactly English has planned.
The winners of this year’s Semibreve Award have also been announced with Adam Basanta & Gil Delindro taking the title for their piece, ‘Permafrost’. The jury of the award was put together by Semibreve, Edigma, engagelab and Jarl Schulp, Director of Amsterdam’s Fiber Festival, with the award having been established to celebrate and promote the creation of works that explore interactivity, sound and image through the use of digital technology.
Finally, the festival has shared a performance video from last year’s event by Christina Vantzou and the Ensemble Harawi. The performance took place at a modern chapel that was used as a new venue for the festival last year, the Capela Imaculada do Seminário Menor. During the soundcheck for the performance, the canal180 team filmed part of their collaboration, which you can watch above.
This year’s Semibreve Festival takes place in Braga, Portgual from October 27-29, with Visible Cloaks, Gas, Karen Gwyer, Laurie Spiegel, Rabih Beaini and many more already confirmed to play. For more information and tickets, click here.
