Semibreve 2024 to Present Sounds Works by Jim O’Rourke and More

The Portuguese festival kicks off later this month

Semibreve has added a final wave of specially commissioned sound works to the programme for its upcoming 2024 edition.

The Braga festival will newly host works by Jim O’Rourke and Keith Fullerton Whitman, as well as a presentation of audiovisual installation Chasing Waterfalls, by artists Lucas Rais and Myriam Bleau. The event will also feature two artist talks: the first sees Mohammad Mehrabani-Yeganeh (Saint Abdullah) and Saya Mohamed (Saya) in conversation with The Wire‘s Claire Biddles, while the second will feature sound recordist Izabela Dłużyk discussing her collaborative work with Chris Watson.

This year’s Semibreve will additionally take in performances from the previously announced likes of Moritz von Oswald, Christina Vantzou, Kevin Richard Martin and Iceboy Violet & Nueen, among others.

Semibreve will take place from October 24 to 27, 2024. Find more information here.
