Braga festival Semibreve has shared the first wave of acts playing its 14th edition this October.
As ever, the Portuguese event will take in a number of special live performances, with Moritz von Oswald set to be joined by a 16-voice choir to present a new piece dubbed ‘Silencio’. Composer and sound artist Christina Vantzou is also among those premiering new material, with ‘The Reintegration Of The Ear’ set to feature tape, voices, bass flutes and electronics in a multiphonic setup.
Kevin Richard Martin’s set at the festival will mark the world premiere of ‘Black’, dubbed by Semibreve as “a musical eulogy to Amy Winehouse”, while Iceboy Violet and Nueen will link up to perform their forthcoming Hyperdub album You Said You’d Hold My Hand Through The Fire live.
Semibreve’s first lineup announcement for 2024 is rounded out by a live set from PYUR, and DJ sets by Rrose, Nídia and Ziúr. More acts will be added to the bill in the coming months.
Semibreve will take place from October 24 to 27, 2024. Find more information here.
