The first acts for this year’s Semibreve festival have been announced with Jlin and William Basinski amongst those set to play this year’s edition of the Portuguese event.
Telectu, the Portuguese duo of Vitor Rua and António Duarte (who replaces original member Jorge Lima Barreto), will perform a show specially commissioned by the festival in partnership with Lisbon’s Teatro Maria Matos, bringing back the original scores, instruments and visual elements involved in the live shows for Telectu’s seminal Belzebu album. The album will also be reissued in June.
Also confirmed are Keith Fullerton Whitman and Pierce Warnecke with another special commission by the festival which will see them bring together live audio and video synthesis. Caterina Barbieri and SØS Gunver Ryberg complete the first announcement for this year’s festival.
Semibreve returns once again to its usual home of Braga in Portugal for this year’s edition and will take place from October 26-28. For more information and to get tickets, head here.
