Sea Change Finalises 2019 Plans

This year's Sea Change in Totnes will see the festival team up with BBC Radio 3's Late Junction

Sea Change has confirmed details of this year’s talks programme, as well as announcing the involvement of BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction in May’s edition of the festival.

Nick Luscombe, host of the radio show, will be on site to introduce two performances by pianist Lubomyr Melnyk, which will be recorded for broadcast on Late Junction. Luscombe will also be in conversation with our own Luke Turner and John Doran following the recent BBC decision to cut Late Junction’s broadcasts to once a week, a move which has been met with protest by us here at tQ as well as figures such as Brian Eno, Shirley Collins and Stewart Lee.

Elsewhere on the talks programme, guests and hosts include The Raincoats, Hannah Peel, Grumbling Fur’s Alexander Tucker, writers David Keenan, our own Luke Turner and John Higgs, poets Salena Godden, Charlotte Newman and Martha Sprackland, and more. The sessions will be recorded and captured for broadcast via us here at tQ in partnership with The Lush Player.

The Pop Group will also be present at this May’s event, presenting a new collaboration with sound artist Matthew Shaw. They will take over modernist building High Cross House on the Dartington estate in Devon to present ‘Blood Money’, a site-specific "live installation."

This year’s Sea Change takes place in Totnes from May 24-26, with a music line-up that includes Metronomy, The Comet Is Coming, Gruff Rhys, Gazelle Twin, Stewart Lee and Bill Ryder-Jones, amongst others. tQ are amongst the official festival partners.
